J (she/her/hers) is a mother, grandmother, nurse and social justice and climate activist. She has lived in Brisbane most of her life and worked as a volunteer in a youth emergency shelter in the 80’s for youth feeling Domestic and Family Violence. J worked as a nurse for 16 years in remote QLD where she developed a keen interest in Maternal and Child Health and Aboriginal Health. J trained and qualified as a Breastfeeding Counsellor with the Australian Breastfeeding Association and worked as a volunteer counsellor for 4 years for breastfeeding mothers in remote QLD. J has been educating herself on feminism, the effects of patriarchy, domestic and family violence and transgenerational trauma. J believes in evidence and solutions based ideology and that gender equality is a basic human right.
J believes in the power of hope, the importance of women working together and supporting each other. J actively pursues positive role models in books, general media and social media. J has had a lifelong passion for protecting mother nature.
