17 Feb Embrace Support Group
BRISSC is pleased to announce our first support group of 2020, Embrace.
Initially run in 2019, Embrace is a support group that focuses on sex and intimacy for survivors of sexual violence. Using a feminist framework for understanding sexual violence, Embrace draws on embodiment techniques to explore women’s sexuality, the impact of trauma on the body, consent, boundaries, triggers, self-love, pleasure and eroticism. See the attached flyer for further details.
Embrace 2020 is scheduled to run on Tuesday evenings between 31st March – 19th of May, between 5.30pm – 8.30pm. There will be no group scheduled for the Tuesday of Easter week.
Snacks are provided. Child care is available upon request.
To register your interest in attending Embrace, we ask that you attend a pre-group meeting (approx. 30-45 mins) with one of the co-facilitators. These meetings are designed to explain the framework, techniques and topics of Embrace in greater detail, as well as provide participants with an opportunity to discuss their hopes and intentions. This enables the facilitators to tailor the content to suit specific needs.
To book a pre-group meeting, please email [email protected]. Meeting times are available on Wednesday afternoons, or after hours upon request.
