28 Apr BRISSC Virtual Rolling Group (COVID-19)
Wow, what a time of change and uncertainty we are experiencing together! Like many people right now, you might be feeling pretty isolated and stressed. Human beings are not meant to endure challenges like this alone so here at BRISSC we are looking at creative ways we can still connect and support you.
One idea that we have is for us to offer a short term, virtual rolling group. This group would be free and open specifically to survivors of sexual violence. We are thinking to use zoom as a platform to connect weekly and offer a place to share and enjoy some simple fun activities. Our intention is to create a safe and supported space during this time of isolation so that we can connect and resource each other.
We are keen to hear your thoughts and feedback and if this is something you might be interested in participating in. This group is not a therapeutic group but rather a place to connect with others and participate in some meaningful activity such as arts, craft, writing, yoga, movement or any other fun thing we can come up with together. Our hope is that participants walk away from this group feeling connected with others and supported and resilient after participating in a simple fun activity. Groups will be co-facilitated by a BRISSC support worker and specialist arts or yoga teacher.
Below are a few questions that will help us plan and offer this group for those who are interested in attending. We really appreciate your thoughts and feedback. The survey will be open for the next week and close on Wednesday the 13th of May.
If you would like to have a more detailed chat about the group please email Susan at [email protected] and we can set up a time.
