For Men and Boys

Our approach to working with survivors is predominantly women centred. At BRISSC we want to end sexual violence in all its forms.

BRISSC provides support to men and boy survivors (over the age of 15) via our telephone support line. We have strong networks with other services that specialise in working with men and boys, and can also offer information and referrals.

On our support phone line we receive calls from men who prefer to seek counsel from women support workers. In those circumstances we will continue to do what we can to provide information, support, and (if relevant) referral.

We recognise that men and boys can be a part of important communities of support for women and girl survivors. Men and boys who are supporting any survivor of sexual violence are also welcome to contact our phone line for support about relevant information or referral pathways.

We will continue to examine opportunities community based response mechanisms, local and national partnerships, and other opportunities for supporting men and boys who are survivors of sexual violence.

Male survivors of sexual violence may wish to contact Living Well.
